For city trips or travelling light, a compact or economy car is a practical, budget-friendly choice, with rates usually starting around MYR100–MYR150 per day. For families, groups or extra luggage, consider a sedan, SUV or MPV with enough room for your journey.

Foreign visitors should prepare their original driving licence before booking. If you are from an ASEAN country, your valid domestic driving licence is usually accepted, especially if it is in English or comes with an English translation. For most non-ASEAN visitors, we strongly recommend carrying a valid International Driving Permit (IDP) together with your original driving licence. The IDP does not replace your licence — both documents should be carried during pickup and while driving in Malaysia. If you are unsure whether your licence is accepted, you may contact ARACAR before booking and our local team will guide you.

During booking, please upload your identification and driving documents. Malaysian renters should upload their MyKad and valid driving licence. Foreign visitors should upload their passport, original driving licence, and IDP or English translation if required. Before pickup, please prepare the same identification and driving documents for verification. Our team may also request to view your booking confirmation, payment proof, or additional verification depending on the vehicle type, rental duration, and pickup arrangement. ARACAR will guide you on the required documents before your rental begins.

ARACAR collects identification and driving documents for rental verification, driver eligibility, and booking security purposes only. ARA Time Travel & Tours Sdn. Bhd. is registered under Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) , and customer documents are handled according to personal data protection requirements. We understand that MyKad, passport, and driving licence details are sensitive, so our team will only request documents needed for the rental process and may verify them again before pickup when required.

ARACAR is designed for convenient door-to-door car rental. During search, simply enter your preferred pickup and return location, such as your hotel, home, office, airport, or selected area. If you prefer self pickup, the car listing page will show available car locations after you search. Each branch or host pickup point includes a linked Google Map location, so you can choose the most convenient option before completing your booking.

Yes, a security deposit may be required depending on the vehicle type, rental duration, pickup location, and booking terms. If a deposit applies, the amount will be shown during the booking process before you confirm your reservation. The deposit acts as temporary security for matters such as traffic summons, fuel difference, late return, damage excess, or other rental-related charges. After the vehicle is returned, our admin team will review the booking and check for any outstanding charges. At the moment, deposit refunds are processed every next Friday from the vehicle return date. If the deposit was paid by credit card, the refund will be reversed to the same card via Stripe. If it was paid by local online banking, our admin may request your bank details by email to complete the refund.

All ARACAR rental vehicles come with basic vehicle insurance. However, the renter may still be responsible for the excess liability amount, depending on the vehicle group, damage type, and rental terms. Optional Damage Waiver add-ons such as CDW or Super CDW may be available during booking to reduce your excess liability. Damage Waiver is not insurance, and its protection is subject to the rental agreement terms. Fuel, toll, parking, delivery charges, additional driver, child seat, Damage Waiver add-ons, and other optional services are not included unless stated during booking.

Yes, booking changes and extensions may be possible, subject to vehicle availability, rental schedule, and any price difference. If you need to extend your rental, please contact ARACAR before your return time so our team can check whether the car is still available. Late return without approval may result in additional charges. For cancellations, refund eligibility depends on the cancellation timing and booking terms. Cancellations made at least 72 hours before the rental start date may be eligible for refund, subject to deduction of any non-refundable payment gateway, bank, card processing, or administrative charges. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the rental start date, no-show, failure to provide required documents, late arrival, or early return may not be refundable.
