Choosing a Rental Car for Passengers and Luggage
Start with the people and bags you are bringing. Compare usable space before deciding between a compact car, SUV or MPV.
Count people and bags separately
Write down how many adults and children will travel, then count your suitcases, cabin bags, pushchairs and other bulky items. A vehicle's seat count does not tell you how much luggage will fit when every seat is in use.
Check the details for the exact vehicle you are considering. Two vehicles described as MPVs or SUVs can have different seat layouts and luggage space.
Match the vehicle to your journey
For a smaller group travelling light, a compact car may meet your needs. A larger group should compare seating and usable boot space together. Think about who needs easy access to the seats and how often you will load and unload bags.
Consider where you will park and how comfortable you are driving the vehicle. Choose space you can use comfortably rather than relying on the vehicle category alone.
Check child seats and extra equipment
If you need a child seat or another extra, ask about availability and suitability before confirming the rental. Include that equipment when assessing space. Do not assume an accessory is included just because it appears in a photograph.
Compare the actual rental options
Enter your pickup location, dates and times to see the available options. Compare the listed vehicle details and rental conditions alongside the price.
If the capacity is unclear, tell ARACAR your passenger count and bag sizes before booking. The image illustrates preparing for a family trip; vehicle availability depends on your dates.
